December Classes!
Our December series start this Wednesday at The Lindy Project. Since it's December, we are only holding classes on the first 3 weeks of the month - so it's just $30 if you pre-register online (www.thelindyproject.com).
Level 1 @ 7:30 - Fundamentals of Lindy Hop
Level 2 @ 8:45 - Expanding on 8ct and 6ct
Level 3 @ 7:30 - Connection
Workshop @ 8:45 - Competition Workshop Series ***
*** As you may have heard, Lone Star Championships is approaching Jan 25-27th! It's a big social dance extravaganza (similar to an exchange) with social dance competitions like Jack and Jills and Strictlys. So, in December Laura and Scott are preparing a set of classes that will give you an opportunity to to learn more about competition and practice. Learn more about aspects of performing / technique / actual practice of J&Js and Strictlys / personalized feedback / information on what judges are looking for / etc.
While we have named the series "Competition Workshop Series", in actuality, these classes are good for anyone. There will be a large focus on cleaning what you do and making what you do look hot... and less on learning new moves. So, you do NOT have to compete, or be interested in competition, to take this series and get something. And it's open to all those with a handle on the fundamentals of Lindy Hop / Swing / Charleston (Approximately Level 3 at TLP and higher).

Tena Morales (Houston), Don West (Dallas), and Scott Angelius (Austin) are hosting a new competition. It's the first annual competition in Texas for Lindy Hoppers - in Austin on Jan 25- 27, 2008.
The vision is to create an annual competition focused on fun and improvisation (aka Social Dance Competitions). This competition is for all that would like to compete in a fun and relaxed environment and those who enjoy watching creative competition and dancing all weekend! It's a social event - not only for the social dancing, but the competitions are social dance competitions: Jack and Jills and Strictlys.
